What is a hernia?

A hernia occurs when a content from the abdomen protrudes through a defect in the abdominal wall muscles. 


Symptoms can be different between any patients, but usually pain and a bulge in the affected area, are the most common complains. 


Surgery is mandatory when a symptomatic hernia occurs, due to the risk of local or systemic complications, that can put your life in risk, and can be avoided with an elective repair and mesh placement.
